Team Jarrett Walk for Autism
Our team name for our walk is called
Jarretts War. Jarrett is 9 years old with Austim Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Dear Friends, I want to share some news with you and to ask you for your help. I have signed up to participate in the 4th Annual Coastal Bend Autism Advocacy's Walk for Autism Awareness that will be held on Sunday, April11, 2010 in Corpus Christi, TX. As a participant of this walk, I have accepted the challenge to bring awareness about Autism to my community and to raise funds to support the work of Coastal Bend Autism Advocacy, Inc. With donations from previous years, the Coastal Bend Autism Advocacy has been able to sponsor and cosponsor workshops, seminars and conferences for professionals and parents and care givers. They have provided free training to area law enforcement, first responders and crisis intervention personnel on techniques unique to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders as well as other developmental and communication disorders. They have provided books to the Autism Library that is housed at Driscoll Children's Hospital as well as assisted devices used in Listening Therapy (which I use), and certain safety devices used in combination with seat belts and car seats and free Critical Medical Information Cards. With funds collected through this event, and others like it, Coastal Bend Autism Advocacy can continue to bring these and other programs like these to the Coastal Bend. I believe these goals are worthy of our time and energy. I hope that you will help by agreeing to be one of my sponsors during this “4th Annual Walk for Autism Awareness.” Please complete the donation below. I am proud to be a participant of this event. I know that with your support my walk will make a difference!
Sincerely, Jarrett Vickery and Family
